Interesting facts about products and areas of application.

Gardenflare fire tubes are decorative fire columns that have been developed for use in gardens and on patios. They are made from high-quality materials such as stainless steel or powder-coated stainless steel and produce an impressive flame of up to 2 metres in height, depending on the model. In addition to the classic fire tube variants, premium models with a longer burning time are also available, as well as the compact Table fire and the impressive XXL fire tube. The fire tubes are easy to install and are fuelled with standard wood pellets.

The Classic, Premium and XXL fire tube versions are supplied with the following components:

Classic, Premium and XXL fire tubes: safety and handling

Information on the safe use of the fire tube models.

The Gardenflare fire tube is fuelled with standard wood pellets. These gradually fall from the pellet chute into the combustion chamber where they are ignited. The fire tube produces an impressive flame up to 2 metres high, depending on the model, which creates a special atmosphere in your outdoor area.

Lighting the Gardenflare Classic, Premium and XXL firepipe models is easy if you follow these 5 steps:

1st preparation:

  • Remove all old residue and ash from the combustion chamber.
  • Clean any deposits in the small burner pipe with a spatula so as not to obstruct the air flow.
  • Only fill the pellet chute with dry, commercially available wood pellets directly before lighting, as these could otherwise absorb moisture.

2. filling with pellets:

  • Place the specified amount of pellets for your model in the pellet chute.

3. lighting:

  • Do not use liquid or gel-like barbecue firelighters, only solid firelighters such as firelighter cubes (make sure you don't throw in too large pieces) or firelighter wood wool. Place a firelighter in the combustion chamber from above, then place a handful of pellets on the firelighter and then another firelighter.
  • Light the firelighter with a long match or a stick lighter, as this method is the most reliable.

4. attaching the glass tube:

  • Place the glass tube carefully. Be careful not to burn yourself on hot parts.

5. development of the flame:

  • The flame needs a little time to develop. Let the flame burn steadily in the fire tube and make sure that it is not directly in the wind. After approx. 20 minutes, depending on the model, the flame should be fully developed. In strong or gusty winds, the flame pattern may be unstable and combustion may be impaired.

Tip: You can also watch the lighting video .

It can take up to 20 minutes for the fireplace effect to fully build up and for the flames to transfer sufficiently to the wood pellets. Normally, however, the flame rises after a shorter time and develops its full effect.

In some cases, the pellets can jam in the filling pipe. In this case, you can lift the fire tube by the glass holder and shake it once to allow the wood pellets to slide out and the fire tube to burn properly again.

The glass tube ensures that the flame is drawn upwards due to the chimney effect. If you remove it during operation, this effect stops immediately and the flame goes out.

The Gardenflare fire tube is specifically designed for use with commercially available wood pellets. The pellets must have a diameter of 6 mm and a length between 3-40 mm (ENplus A1 standard). Other fuels such as wood chips, straw pellets, charcoal, liquid fuels, or similar materials must not be used, as they could damage the fire tube and compromise safety. Wood pellets ensure a clean and efficient combustion.

  • Use the fire tube exclusively outdoors and never indoors.
  • Do not move the fire tube while it is in operation.
  • Never leave the fire tube unattended while it is burning.

The fire tube is designed exclusively for outdoor use. It is perfect for gardens, terraces, or other outdoor areas. Make sure that the fire tube stands on a level, non-flammable surface, and keep a distance of at least 3 meters from flammable materials. Never operate the fire tube indoors.

No, most parts of the fire tube become very hot during operation and must not be touched. For safe handling when emptying the combustion chamber or removing the glass tube after cooling down, we recommend the Gardenflare barbecue and heat glove. It is heat-resistant up to 350 °C and provides reliable protection against burns.

The fire tube becomes very hot during operation and should never be used by children. Always keep children away from the fire tube and do not leave them unattended near it. Cleaning and maintenance of the fire pipe should also not be performed by children. Make sure that the fire tube is always placed on a stable, level surface and cannot be knocked over.

Do not use the fire tube if it is damaged. Contact customer service to request spare parts or repairs.

No, the fire tube should only be used in dry weather. Make sure that the fire tube is protected from weather conditions such as rain or storm.

The discoloration of the stainless steel after use is completely normal and results from the mechanical properties of the material at high temperatures. These color changes neither affect the function nor the safety of the fire pipe and contribute to the unique patina that the material develops over time.

Whilst the Gardenflare fire tube is primarily designed as a decorative fire, the flame still gives off a pleasant basic warmth. The heat effect depends on the model: the classic and premium fire tube only give off a little heat, while the XXL model generates noticeable heat in the vicinity. Overall, however, the fire tube is more a stylish design than a heat source and creates a cosy atmosphere.

A fire tube is not intended as a heating device in the classic sense. Although some models - especially XXL fire tube - give off a noticeable warmth in the immediate vicinity, they do not replace outdoor heating. The main function is the decorative flame effect and the creation of an atmospheric ambience in the outdoor area.

If your fire tube is smoking heavily, there can be several reasons for this. The most common cause is damp or unsuitable pellets. A dirty combustion chamber, incorrect lighting methods, incorrect lighting aids or a blocked air supply due to ash residue can also cause smoke. Make sure you only use dry, commercially available wood pellets, clean the appliance regularly and only use solid lighting aids.

There can be various reasons for poor or irregular burning behaviour. It is often due to damp pellets, too little fuel, incorrect filling or insufficient air supply. In some cases, the combustion chamber is dirty or the ignition aid is unsuitable. Clean the fire tube regularly, ensure correct lighting with solid lighting aids and only use commercially available wood pellets.

A sooty glass pipe is usually a sign that the combustion process has not been clean. Common causes are damp pellets, poor air supply, incompletely burnt kindling or incorrect kindling. To clean the glass tube, allow the fire tube to cool down completely and wipe the tube with warm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive sponges or aggressive cleaning agents.

Cleaning and Care

Care instructions for a long service life.

Make sure that the fire tube has cooled down completely before you clean it. To clean it, first pull out the ash drawer and empty or clean it. First remove the glass tube and clean it with a brush (already included with the Premium fire tube ) and a suitable cleaning agent.
Cleaning agents. The Gardenflare special cleaner is particularly suitable for this. The fire tube is then poured out once vertically with the opening for the ash pan facing downwards (in a horizontal position) and then with the feet facing upwards. For optimum results, it is recommended that you also use a small brush or broom to completely remove ash and other residues from the combustion chamber.

To maximise the lifespan of your fire tube, you should clean it after every use. Wait until the fire tube has cooled down completely and empty the ash from the drawer. The best way to clean the glass tube is with Gardenflare Special Cleaner, as it has been specially developed for heat-resistant glass such as fireplace and fire tube panes and gently removes even stubborn soot residues. You can simply clean the outer stainless steel surfaces with warm water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or metal brushes, as these can damage the material.

No, the individual parts of the fire tube must not be cleaned in the dishwasher, as this can damage the material. For cleaning the glass tube, we primarily recommend the Gardenflare special cleaner, as it has been specially developed for heat-resistant glass such as fireplace glass and fire tube glass tubes. Alternatively, lighter soiling can also be removed by hand cleaning with warm water and a little mild washing-up liquid.
