Lighting your fire tube correctly: the most important steps
Here are the 5 most important steps for lighting your Gardenflare fire tube correctly:
1. preparation
- Remove ash and residue from the combustion chamber.
- Carefully clean any deposits from the small burner pipe so that the air flow is not obstructed.
- Only fill the pellet chute with dry wood pellets directly before lighting. You can use our premium wood pellets in the 3.5 kg starter pack, for example.
2. filling with pellets
- Fill the right amount of pellets for your model into the pellet chute. For clean and easy filling, you can use the scoop and funnel from our care & accessory set for the Classic fire tube, for example.
3. lighting
- Only use solid kindling such as kindling cubes or kindling wool. First place a lighting aid in the combustion chamber, add a handful of pellets and then place another lighting aid on top.
- Light everything with a long match or a stick lighter.
4. attach glass tube
- Place the glass tube carefully and avoid contact with hot parts. For additional protection, you can use the Gardenflare barbecue and heat glove, for example.
5. let the flame develop
- The flame needs some time to fully develop. Let the flame burn steadily and make sure that it is as sheltered from the wind as possible.
- Depending on the model, it can take around 20 minutes for the flame to fully develop.
